Tim Hanely is the Ohio State Chairman and Regional State Chairman for NASLBC Region 1.  Working in his capacity as the State Chairman, Tim has specialized in issues ranging from FMLA to Railroad Retirement issues.  As a Regional Chairman, Brother Hanely conducts Division Legislative Representative Workshops within the Region and in Washington, D.C.  He also serves the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen on Medical Standards and Minimum Training Standards FRA RSAC committees.

Mr. Hanely became a Locomotive Engineer and BLET member in Newark, Ohio on the CSX in 1994.  He began his union career as an Alternate LR in 1999, and became Ohio’s State Chairman in 2006.  Tim has attended the Local Chairman’s extended workshop, the HAZMAT Shipping & HAZMAT Trainer’s workshops, and the Nuclear Trainer’s workshop as well as NTSB symposiums on Positive Train Control.

As a 4^th generation rail worker, Brother Hanely wanted to participate in the union effort to maintain and enhance the working conditions that his father and grandfathers fought to gain.

Prior to his rail career, Tim Hanely attended The Ohio State University and was a helicopter test pilot in the U.S. Army.  He resides in Canal Winchester, Ohio with his 16 year old daughter, Joesette.
